The Situation 3

maple syrup is a tree’s tears or

honey is a bee’s hopes there’s no hope

for bees not now they’re in so many poems

not now we all know the truth about bees

how their flying I’m a sham listen air stewardess

at the bus stop I’m giving you good advice

if bees can’t fly what hope is there for you

go home ring your mother in warsaw

eat goulash if it’s goulash you really eat

drink vodka drink all my stereotypes and take

off your uniform richard branson and vivienne

westwood have new uniforms for you lie in a

bath with candles everywhere in the water even

beneath the water even and listen to david axelrod

like it’s 1998 all over again like it’s something

you would listen to like when a dog pisses against

a tree it’s not reversed tears it’s not syrup

it’s not good on pancakes it’s just what a dog

does when it rains it’s not god’s tears

it’s not a deluge it’s just what clouds do
