The Situation – 1

I’ve lost my way and listened

to too much bad music sat on too

many trains not knowing

where I was going german man

you don’t know the way either you act like

you know where you’re going

but this is all desert white desert so the horizon

is lost and the skies throw clouds

about like real ufos true ufos

I left you staring at the map and when

I took my seat blood trickled

from my nose she was looking at me

strangely like this was somehow my fault

like i might hurt the world and in darkness

we stared at ourselves not maps

now listen to the pigeons sing I mean starlings

i can’t convince myself there’s song in that sound

now listen to the escalator rise and fall

and eat itself snake to snake to mouth

to mouth we’re none of us connected
